Getting it running
- Unzip the folder somewhere sensible —
C:\ScriptureCaster\is a good home. Avoid the Desktop and OneDrive-synced folders. - Run
ScriptureCaster.exe. - Before your first service, open a command prompt in that folder and run
ScriptureCaster.exe --selftest. It checks the screens, the fonts and the database on the machine that will actually be used.

What Windows will say
The download is not code-signed — a certificate costs several hundred dollars a year, which is not where donated money should go. Windows SmartScreen may warn you the first time. Choose More info → Run anyway.

Keeping an older release
Each release is a self-contained folder, so keeping the previous one is as simple as not deleting it. Rename the old folder, unzip the new one beside it, and switch back at any time — your settings live with each folder.
Terms of use
ScriptureCaster is free to use and free to pass on to another church, exactly as it is downloaded. It is not open source: the program may not be modified, decompiled, reverse engineered or republished under another name. That is deliberate rather than protective — a project that forks in ten directions stops being something a volunteer can be handed on a Sunday morning, and where a publisher has licensed their translation for use in it, keeping the program closed is part of how their text is kept safe.
If it is missing something your church needs, ask — that is how almost everything in it got built.
